Still Kicking Butt

OMG!!!
I know what you're thinking...where in the world has Missy been!?
Trust me..I missed you as well! I have been busy busy busy!!
My last blog had my 2nd round of the 21 Day Fix results and it was back in July!
I am currently on my 5th round and still going strong!

I have lost another 13 pounds since my last blog! HOLY CRAP! I can't believe it! Can you!? Since I started this journey I am down 38.8lbs! And only 1.2lbs away from the weight I was when I found out I was prego with Peyton (my 2nd kiddo)!

After Round 1 (GREEN)
After Round 4 (BLACK)
Since July I have been so active...I signed up for the Color Run (5k) and its this Saturday! I'm so freaking excited! I still can't run due to my shins but I'm going to be jogging/walking! I've heard so many amazing things about the Color Run and I just can't wait to have a blast!! I also made a huge decision to become a Beachbody Coach in August! Just seeing what the Beachbody products have done for me make me want to spread the word and help others change their lives! I have been eating healthy and getting my workouts done everyday! I also made a new friend who lives right up the street! She comes over everyday and works out with me! It's honestly so nice to have someone to workout with and we totally motivate each other!

My family life is still going great! Cooper will be turning 4 on the 30th...WAHHH!!! I can't believe my baby boy is growing up so fast! Peyton is growing like a weed and learning more words daily! I have such amazing people in my life who are so encouraging and supporting with me/my journey and I just want to thank them! I thank you for taking the time to read my blog and following my weight loss journey!

240lbs Left
204lbs Right

BIG NEWS!
I have officially began wearing a size LARGE t-shirt now!! WHAT!? I was wearing XL when I started and I can now comfortably wear a LARGE! It might not seem like a huge deal to some...but its such an amazing feeling knowing that what I am doing is really making a difference!! My yoga pants and bras are getting too big on me as well!
You know what that means right!?
SHOPPING SPREE!!
Haha..well not yet...I want to lose more before I go buy anything new (besides workout clothes here and there)!

I am so in love with this body that I am chiseling away at! Of course its not perfect but its getting closer to my version of perfect everyday! Being able to look in the mirror and honestly love my body is a HUGE change from a year ago! I used to hide under my clothes and wear baggy things to hide my body! Now I am embracing everything about myself and I can't tell you how much confidence I have gained!

Look at these muscles!!

So I'm going to honestly try harder to blog more frequently!

2nd Round Complete!!

Hey there!!

Last post was my results and pictures from my first round of the 21 Day Fix and I've been super busy this past 21 days and haven't had much time to focus on my blog. I'm super excited to share my results with you from my second round today!

In the last 21 days I have busted my ass! During my first two weeks I stuck to the one workout a day except for when I felt really good I would add an extra workout to my schedule. I also went for a 2 mile walk in the yucky North Carolina heat...but I got my sweat on so it was totally worth it!

On the 3rd week my in-laws came to visit for a few days (talk about needing to have self control) they brought so many yummy goodies I had to hold back...ALOT! I stuck to my double workouts for the whole third week and I was surprised I stayed on track with everything going on.

Before I started my second round I took body measurements and my weight. I weighed 219.2lbs when I started and was a total of 222 inches. The pictures I am going to put up below are from Day 1 of Round 1 and Day 21 of Round 2.

During Round 2 I lost a total of 4.4lbs (currently 214.8lbs) and 8 inches (214")!!!!

As you can see (hopefully you can see it)...having completed two rounds my body is really changing! And I'm in love with all of the changes my body is going through. Honestly I have put in a lot of hard work and I have been doing well with my eating (but if I want something not so healthy I will limit myself).
I have been showered with compliments by my hubby, family, friends and neighbors about how I look and its one of the best feelings EVER!! So thank you to everyone for all of your love and support! It means so much to me!

I am starting Day 1 of my THIRD round of the 21 Day Fix today! I've loved this program from the moment I started and want to continue doing it! I love seeing results and just want to keep seeing them!!

Well...I will try to blog during this round but if not keep an eye out for my results blog for next time. I plan to work harder than I have and be extremely active everyday to get even better results. I have officially lost 25.8lbs since I began my weight loss journey and I have 44.8lbs to go until I reach my weight goal! The weight is coming off slowly by surely!

If you are trying to lose weight but are having trouble starting...try cutting out one sugary beverage a day and replace it with water. Instead of sitting on the couch watching tv all day...get up and go for a walk. It will not be easy but it will be worth it! Trust me!

21 Day Fix Results

Good Morning!!

So...I finished my first round of the 21 Day Fix and I couldn't be more happy with my results! The last week was hard but I pushed through and worked my butt off! I had my double workouts everyday during the last week and then I would go outside to do yard work to burn some extra calories. I cut the grass (with the push mower) and trimmed branches off of the two trees we have in our backyard. I played with my kids outside in the hot North Carolina heat! I just did anything I could to continue to sweat

When I started the 21 Day Fix I was 225lbs. This morning when I weighed myself I was 219.2lbs! So I lost 5.8lbs but I feel like I lost more than that! I didn't have any muscles when I started and I wish I would have taken a before flexing picture...but I didn't.

Ready to see my before and after pictures!?
Here you go...

I can see a big difference but I can feel an even bigger difference! I am really starting to love my body and all the changes I am going through! My goal weight is still 170lbs. and I still have a lot of work to do but I'm on my way to the body I want! It's super rewarding to see these results after just 21 days. But working out and eating healthy really does pay off in the end!

If you remember when I started my weight loss journey I weighed 240.6lbs. so I have lost a total of 21.4lbs!!

Wanna see my new muscles!?

It might not look like much but I honestly had nothing there before!

My plan now is to start the 21 Day Fix again. This time I'm going to be using heavier weights (I want sexy sculpted arms) since I was only using 5 pound weights. I am also going to start today!

Just wanted to say "THANK YOU" to everyone who pushed me, complimented me and just encouraged me through the past 21 days! You all are amazing! And a huge shoutout to my husband who compliments me everyday! I love hearing him say he is proud of me!

Set goals for yourself in everything you do.
When you crush those goals...celebrate.
If you don't crush every goal its ok.
Just set new goals and push even harder!

Making Progress

HAPPY TUESDAY EVERYONE!!!!

Just finished eating some grilled chicken on my spinach salad. It was super yummy! Both kids are napping and my husband is in bed resting and trying to recover from his surgery so I figured I would sit down and catch everyone up.

I have been doing my scheduled workouts everyday at my kids nap time! Day 10 (last blog) through Day 15 (today) have been wonderful! Yes I've been sore and yes I've been sweating my booty off but I'm loving every minute of it!

Yesterday was rough. We left the house around 7:30am to drive an hour to the hospital for my husband's surgery. I had to entertain both kids in a hospital waiting room for hours! It was stressful but hey...they kept me up and moving! We finally arrived home around 2:00pm and I honestly had been thinking about my workout ALL DAY! I couldn't wait to get home and get everyone settled in so I could press play on my dvd and get sweating! Today I started the last 7 days of my 21 Day Fix so that means double workouts each day (which I've been looking forward to). I knocked out my Total Body Cardio Fix this morning and just finished my Pilates Fix a little bit ago. I am still completely in love with this program and I am seeing even more changes!

On Day 11...I really wanted to see if I was making progress that I could compare to the pictures I took on Day 1. Well...let me just say...DAMN! There was a difference already! It made me more excited to continue and to push even harder with each workout! I've been eating healthy (even with being gone all day yesterday I still made healthy choices) and chugging water constantly! I feel like I have more energy and that I am in a better mood all the time. I am more active with my children and the people in my life have even mentioned the changes they have started to see.

You are probably thinking...is she ever going to post that progress picture she was talking about!? The answer is NOPE! I only showed a very select few people that picture. You wouldn't want someone to spoil what happens in a movie you are about to watch or a series that you love...right!? So you'll have to wait until the ending to see the results! Just know that you will totally see some changes.

My plan after this 21 Day Fix...I want to do it again! Like I said earlier...I love this program and what it's done for me so I will continue. I will use heavier weights, I will do more reps, I will hold my planks for longer...I will do whatever it takes to keep my journey going strong!

It doesn't matter the pace that you are going while working out...you are still doing it!

Stop Quitting

Hey everyone!
It's been a looooong four months since I have been on here but I'm back. If you have been following my journey I know what you are probably thinking..."how many times is she going to quit and come back..?" But if that is what you are thinking...shame on you. No one is perfect.

Well...first things first! I want to apologize to everyone who was following my journey and then I just went away...a few times. I have received many messages about how I motivated others to get up and lose weight and I feel like I have failed those people. No one is perfect and no weight loss journey is perfect. You will have ups and downs...sometimes you just give up on yourself because you aren't seeing the results that you want. That's what happened to me honestly. I gave up. I didn't think I was worth it and didn't think I could change myself or my lifestyle.

I've been super depressed about my body yet again but I wasn't doing anything to change it. Ever since I found out about the stress fractures in both legs its been my excuse to not workout and to eat like crap. I haven't even used my gym membership in months but I'm still paying for it because I kept telling myself I would eventually go back. At the beginning of June an old friend of mine that I worked with in the Marine Corps messaged me on Facebook. He was asking questions about fitness and my lifestyle. He is currently a Beachbody coach and we started talking about some of the programs they offer. So I decided it was time to try something new since I haven't found that one thing to keep me motivated so thats when I ordered the 21 Day Fix and one month supply of Shakeology. I was super excited when my package arrived that I read through everything in the box and planned to start my 21 days the following day. So I did!! I was sooooo sore after the first and second day but I didn't give up (trust me I wanted to just lay around all day because of the soreness)!

Well I am currently on Day 10 of the 21 days. I missed a few workouts from a busy weekend (which is no excuse I know) so I have been making them up that way I can get back on track. I'm in love with this program! I am following the meal plan for the most part. It's only one workout a day (until the last week then its two) and 30 minutes each workout (which is perfect with two little ones running around). Some workouts are easier than others but I love how different each workout is! I know this might sound crazy but I can feel changes in my body already. I was so tired of hating my body and have been avoiding ever mirror I walk by. I took before pictures and can't wait to see my before and after pictures together after day 21 (June 29th so stay tuned).

I am by no means saying that you have to order this program or do the things that I am doing in order to lose weight and I'm not trying to sell anything. I'm simply sharing my journey for those who want to read about it!

So that's really all I wanted to say this time...just keep a lookout for my next blog which honestly might not be until I complete my 21 days since my hubby is having surgery on Monday and I will have a lot on my plate (not my food plate...my stress plate).

Take It Easy

Hey everyone!
What a week I have had.
I started my week with a 3 mile walk on the treadmill at the gym on Monday. The inside of my shins were killing me. Tuesday I took the day off because the pain was extreme and I made an appointment with my doctor to get my legs checked out. Wednesday morning I went to the doctor and found out I have severe shin splints. I was told to rest for 2 weeks (that's not going to happen) so I told the doctor about how I was working out/trying to lose this weight and she came up with a plan for me. She told me to swim (not an option since my gym doesn't have a pool), ride a bike or walk for 2 weeks. After the 2 weeks I am allowed to run but only 1 minute of running followed by 5 minutes of walking. As the weeks go on I will be allowed to do more but in order to get rid of this pain I will need to follow this plan. So I went to the gym that evening and biked 8 miles (which took 45 minutes). Thursday was beautiful and almost 70 degrees outside so during the afternoon my kiddos and I took a 3 mile walk around our neighborhood.
My babies after our walk

Friday I rested and ran a bunch of errands to get ready for Valentine's Day! Saturday I walked another 3 miles on the treadmill changing the incline and speed throughout. I know I just told you that I'm not allowed to run but I ran (pretty much a super slow jog) for about a minute in the beginning so that my heart rate would increase and so I would start sweating. I plan on going to the gym today and I will probably walk another 3 miles.
Happy Valentine's Day!
Valentine's Day is usually filled with chocolates and candies at our house! But I am happy to say that only the kids got those things. I did however have two pieces of Cooper's chocolates (I had to control myself) but that was it!

To be honest...I didn't think I was going to lose any weight this week since I can't do certain things at the gym (and since "Aunt Flow" hasn't visited me in almost 2 years thanks to being pregnant and breastfeeding...she made a visit this week...holy cramps) but when I hopped on the scale this morning I was very surprised!

Last week I weighed 224.6lbs.

This week I weigh...

This means I lost 2 pounds this week! So in the past four weeks I have lost a total of 10.4lbs!! I'm extremely happy with these numbers this week! If I keep going at the rate that I am I could possibly reach my goal of 170lbs in 5 more months! I have 52.6lbs to go! I just need to make sure that I listen to what the doctor told me so that I don't hurt myself even worse. I would be devastated if I hurt myself and was unable to workout! I promised you that this week would be better...and look at that! I kept my promise!! Let's keep our fingers crossed for a great weigh in next week!

If something doesn't feel right or you are having pain while you are working out don't push it. Take time to recover and take care of your body. Its alright to take a break every now and then when you need it!

See you next week!

Let's Be Honest...

Howdy!
This week has been a busy one for me so let's just jump right into it!
Monday my hubby had duty (for the non-military people out there...this means he sits at the barracks for 24 hours) so I wasn't able to make it to the gym (I'm not paying and extra $25 a month for childcare! No way!) so Tuesday when he was well rested I got my butt in the gym to get all sweaty and burn some calories! Wednesday was my two year wedding anniversary (I honestly can't believe its been two years already...holy cow!) so the gym wasn't a priority. Just being honest. Thursday I went as well but I haven't been since. I know what you're thinking. I'm being fat and lazy. I'm not I promise. This week just hasn't been the easiest. I need to be honest about another thing before I tell you what the scale said today. My eating this week has been HORRIBLE! I had a donut date with my kiddos, Jimmy John's with my hubby and we just had Texas Roadhouse tonight with our friends who just got back to town!

My plan for this week is to get to the gym everyday and spend at least 30 minutes working out. I will need to be disciplined with my food and water intake. I want to see a big difference next Sunday and that means I have to make a change.

Last week I weighed 225.4

This week I weigh...

I have lost a total of 8.2 pounds.

I know it's not a big difference and my poor choices have really effected my weight and results this week. I promise you that next Sunday's blog and weigh-in will be the complete opposite of this one!

Sorry this weeks blog is short and to the point but I was pretty busy today. Now its time to get my babies in the bath and start our nightly routine.

Shoutout to my amazing hubby who is meal prepping for me right now!
Thank you!! You are the best!

One Last Thought
Be honest with yourself
If you aren't making the right choices in the kitchen and not making the time to get your butt moving then you will not see the results you are wishing/hoping for.

Until next week...
